The Gulf of Morbihan

The Gulf of Morbihan gave its name to the department: Mor-Bihan means "little sea" in Breton.
Vast expanse of sea water, 11,500ha, it is an exceptional site.

Real paradise, this small inland sea sheltered from the ocean is dotted with small islands, as many islands as there are days of the year according to legend.
Baptized “the Pearl of the Gulf” , Île aux moines is the largest. Small flowery alleys, enchanting atmosphere, you can explore it on foot or by bike, the circulation of motor vehicles is not authorized.
But the charm of the Gulf has many other advantages. The island of Gavrinis and its famous Cairn, the island of Arz and its wild beauty, Berder, a small magical island accessible only at low tide, will amaze you.
A training ground for all great sailors, navigation on the gulf will make you discover this veritable labyrinth, ranked among the most beautiful bays in the world.
Its 180km of trails marked coastal paths, will allow you to discover another facet of this marvel.
